My First Conference Presentation

So, after weeks of preparation and not wanting to go, I went to Austria and actually had a good time!
I worried solidly for 2 days about my presentation. The thought of presenting my research to 200 people was truly terrifying, but I met some lovely people who were so, so supportive and they helped me through what was a really difficult time. When I finished my presentation, 3 of them were waiting at the door for me and said they were my fan club!!! :D

All in all, I'm feeling quite pleased with myself :)

So, for the next few weeks, I shall be mostly preparing for my next review... Go me!

I will make more of an effort next time! I wasn't sure how dressed up I should be and the answer was ALOT more than I was. Skinny jeans and a black shirt won't do :)

So tonight, I went to a 50th birthday party (for a friend of my Dad).
There were about 150 Italians there, most of which I didn't know which wasn't great.
However, that didn't matter because the best part about it was the band! It was the same band that played at my 21st and at the wedding. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but my GOD it's fabulous. I want to dance to that all night long, at least once a month!

How strange am I, I love Italian folk music and cock rock!!!

So things with me are something like this:

Busy at work, working a minimum of 43 hours a week - not a lot for some, but a lot for me!!!
Last weekend, I went looking for dresses with the ever lovely Jenny, and Kev kindly suffered through a few pints to keep Paul occupied!
This weekend just gone, my parents and brother came up to Ponte to see us and help with a little DIY on Saturday. On Sunday, Paul and I went to Leeds to do some Christmas shopping' then in the evening I wrapped presents and put the tree up. For those of you who say it is too soon, I hope you get visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future!!!

I love Christmas!!!

Shame I'm stuck at work really.... Bored...... Brain is turning to mush.......

I'm so bored and frustrated with temping. I feel like a second class citizen with all these people looking down at me as if I'm scum because I'm doing the photocopying and answering the phone. Do they really think that's all I'm capable of?!
My brain feels like it may as well stop functioning altogether.
Thankfully, I'm going to see my old uni Supervisors on Wednesday, the ones that helped me with my dissertation. I'm hoping to see if I can continue with my project a) for something to do, b) I really enjoyed it and c) I think I can use it towards my chartership.
